About the game
What is Pictionary?
Pictionary is a fast-paced party game of sketching and guessing, often compared to Charades, but with drawings instead of physical acting. Players divide into teams and take turns drawing clues from prompt cards while their teammates race against the timer to guess the correct answer. Some rounds are designated “All Play,” where multiple teams compete simultaneously to guess the same prompt, while other rounds feature solo team turns. Answers range in difficulty, and while artistic skill can help, imagination, communication, and quick thinking matter far more. A game board is used to track progress, adding a light strategic element to the competitive fun. First released in 1985, Pictionary became a massive hit and has remained a staple of the party game genre ever since.
