BoardGameBrain is a knowledgeable helper, not the final authority at your table. Its answers are generated automatically and can be wrong.

Automated output

Rules answers, citations, game identifications, summaries, and recommendations may be incorrect, incomplete, outdated, overconfident, or unrelated to the exact situation. A fluent answer is not proof of correctness.

When an answer conflicts with the official rulebook, errata, publisher ruling, or the rules agreed by your group, follow those authoritative sources.

Citations and sources

A citation shows the material used to support a claim; it does not guarantee that the source was interpreted correctly or that it applies to your edition. Source availability varies by game. Some research answers can include publisher, BoardGameGeek community, or other web sources whose accuracy and availability we do not control.

Editions, expansions, and house rules

Games can have regional editions, revised printings, expansions, promo rules, errata, and house rules. Tell BoardGameBrain the edition and expansions in use. A response can silently assume a different version when the available source is ambiguous.

Strategy suggestions

Strategy is contextual and subjective. Suggestions may overlook hidden information, player preferences, tournament policy, social dynamics, or legal moves. Do not use BoardGameBrain to cheat, obtain hidden information, or violate event or platform rules.

Photo analysis

Photo analysis can misread pieces, colors, text, orientation, player ownership, or obscured information. Verify the described board state before relying on advice. Avoid including faces, documents, screens, addresses, or other personal information in a photo. On the website, the submitted image itself is not saved in chat history, although the associated question and generated answer may be saved; provider and operational handling is described in the Privacy Policy.
