Delete Your Account
Current process as of July 10, 2026
Account deletion is irreversible. It removes the active BoardGameBrain account and its user content, but it does not cancel an App Store or web subscription.
Before you delete
- Copy anything you want to keep. BoardGameBrain does not currently provide a self-service account export on the website.
- Wait for an active chat or purchase to finish. If deletion reports that work is still active, wait briefly and retry.
- Understand that unused purchased usage and account-bound access will become unavailable.
- Use the same signed-in account you intend to delete.
How to delete
- Sign in to BoardGameBrain.
- Open Account settings.
- Choose Delete account.
- Review the consequences, enter the requested confirmation, and confirm deletion.
In the iOS app, open Settings and use the account deletion control shown for a saved account. Guest profiles do not currently show that control. If you cannot sign in or need help with a guest profile, contact support for the available verified deletion process.
What deletion removes
- Your active authentication account and sign-in session.
- Stored chat sessions, messages, titles, citations, and user-linked game history.
- Bookmarks and saved game lists.
- Active BoardGameBrain entitlement records.
- Access to account-bound included or purchased usage balances.
- User-linked records that the deletion process is designed to remove, sever, redact, or de-identify.
After deletion, sign-out cookies and local account state are cleared from the browser that completed the request. You can separately clear site data in browser settings on other devices.
What may be retained
Limited records may remain in redacted, de-identified, severed, account-derived, or access-restricted form where needed for model-cost and usage accounting, tax, payment, refund, chargeback, support, security, abuse prevention, legal, or audit obligations. These can include a one-way deletion tombstone, processor transaction or customer records, allowance grants, reservations and refund audit entries, severed feedback, and operational logs. These retained records are not available as a usable account or balance after deletion. Backups and third-party systems may take additional time to rotate.
RevenueCat, Apple, a web payment provider, OpenAI, Cloudflare, and other processors may retain information under their own obligations and retention schedules. Account deletion does not guarantee immediate deletion from every processor system.
If deletion does not complete
Retry once after any active request finishes. If the problem continues, email support@boardgamebrain.app from the account email when possible. We may ask for limited information to verify ownership, but never for your password or authentication code.
