What is Artistry?

It is the height of the Art Nouveau movement that is taking the world by storm, and you, an intrepid young artist of much ambition and…well…no fame, are determined to make your workshop the talk of all the latest artistic journals. If only you could decide WHAT to make. Should you begin with ceramics? Dabble in glass work? Create new textiles? Work with metal? Paint!? There are so many options, but you must begin somewhere. Surely, once you find your muse, other talented artisans will flock to your studio to find their creative outlet by your side. There’s no use daydreaming, though! Gather your materials, find your inspiration, and create the patterns for the artistic masterpieces that will turn your studio into one of the most renowned art houses the world has ever seen! Each round players will take turns using their artisans to draft material tiles in specific shapes from the market and using those tiles to craft patterns for renown. As each player crafts more patterns, they will gain new artisans or advance their existing artisans from apprentice to journeywoman to master crafter, giving them access to new shapes and better options when drafting from the market. At the end of the game, players tally their renown based on the artisans they have gained and patterns they have crafted, and the player with the most renown wins! —description from the publisher
